Anika Noni Rose is an American actress and vocalist. She is best known for voicing Tiana Disney's first African-American princess In The Princess and the Frog. The film was named her as a Disney Legend in 2011. Rose appeared as Lorrell Robertson, the character in Dreamgirls and was awarded the Academy Award. Anika Rose was born June 6 on the 6th of September, 1973. Rose is an American actress and a singer. Most famously, she is known for playing Tiana the first Disney African-American princess as seen in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legends featured her as one in 2011. Her most well-known role is the role of Lorrell Robinson in the film that won an Academy Award Dreamgirls (2005) and for her performance as LaVerne Jinglebox Ganner in the Starz show Power.
