Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican American journalist. She hosts SportsNation as well as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She began her career at ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from age nine. Her skills were instrumental in helping her land her first job as a production assistant for Univision Miami in which she was a producer of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then, she was hired by the CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. Then she moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to work as a reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Covering stories related to drugs and immigration issues from both sides of the Mexico-Texas border, she was reporter for news for KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 from 5pm, then a news reporter with a news anchor in English for 9 pm, the news anchor was on until 10pm, before returning on channel Spanish channel. The duties of anchoring on sports and weather was also frequently asked for. Later, she was the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her more responsibility. She covered events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys as well as the NBA Postseason, as well as the finals for FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. Aside from this, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was a host of sports for the morning program on Despierta America Deportes. The anchor also worked in the same capacity for the network's magazine show Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents originally hail from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born in November of 1985. She is more mature than her younger sister. The family moved into Miami in 1992 after leaving Mexico. Soon after they separated, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo was remarried. He passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. She stayed in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer in which she was offered a job. Antonietta was just graduating from high school, but was already aware of what she was going to be doing. The result was that she liked the campus as well as the fact that it offered the major she wanted. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and began studying media at the college. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor for WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was an affiliate. He was the one who boosted her faith and confidence, as well as whose enthusiasm for journalism deeply touched her. She was determined to exceed his expectations and never let him down.
