Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as the Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She covers all aspects of space, from NASA and the Space Force and commercial space companies to the advent of Space Tourism. Kristin's parents were both NASA astronauts. Kristin spent her childhood in space. She has also worked as a White House reporter for FOX News reporting on the both the Biden and Trump administrations in space matters. Over the course of this time, she covered the 2020 presidential campaign, the impeachment trial and two attempts to prevent the pandemic coronavirus, as well as two different administrations' efforts. In addition, she was a frequent traveler with President Trump as well as the Vice President often. It included a secret trip with him to Afghanistan. Kristin was a television reporter for Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., in which she was awarded the Emmy Award for her work as an "one-man-band" reporter prior to being hired by CBS in the year 2015. Kristin used her experience behind the lens to start Field Mouse Films. The firm specialized in making documentary films, and became a preferred choice among corporate clients, including Uber, Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin is a graduate of journalism at Boston University. Her husband and three year-old daughter reside in Washington, D.C.
